Since I can't know whether our family will have three grandchildren forever, I was happy to follow organ builder Cornelia Grübele's suggestion (can be read in HolzWerken 84 January/February 2020) and made a dozen whistles from a long strip . Unfortunately, the idea of having a few gifts in stock didn't work out: the pipes sold like hotcakes!
I was therefore only able to realize the idea of using my laser engraver to further embellish the pipes with matching motifs for the second small series. By the way: I used to be so engrossed in my woodwork that I didn't hear the call for lunch! But since my wife started using her whistle, I too have benefited from regular warm meals!
